Unable to connect to local MySQL server via socket

Hello.
I have a site that uses SQL database everything is still working normally until today it reports this error:
Unable to connect to local MySQL server via socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
I have to do to overcome. Someone please help me, I really need it to start now.
